1. How Transcription Works
TTR turns speech into subtitles using our own transcription service. When you tap Transcribe, the app extracts the audio track of your video and sends that audio — never the video itself — over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to our speech recognition provider (ElevenLabs) for the sole purpose of returning a transcript. We do not store your audio or video on our servers, and neither we nor our provider use it to train models. An internet connection is required for this step. Everything else — editing, styling, translation and export — happens on your iPhone, and your video never leaves it. Using TTR requires no account and no sign-in.
2. Device Verification and Usage Limits
To keep the transcription service available and prevent abuse, our server verifies that requests come from a genuine installation of the app using Apple's App Attest, and counts the number of daily requests per installation. This uses an anonymous per-installation identifier that is not linked to your Apple Account, your name, or your email address.
3. Product Analytics
TTR records anonymous usage events — screens opened, features used, transcriptions and exports completed, purchase screens shown — so we can see where the app is confusing or failing. These events carry an identifier generated for your installation, never your name, email, or Apple Account, and never the contents of your videos, transcripts or captions. Analytics are processed by PostHog on servers in the European Union, and subscription status is handled by RevenueCat. We do not use any of this to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
4. What We Do Not Collect
TTR contains no advertising and no advertising trackers. We do not build profiles about you, we do not sell or share data with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We never collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or location.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed with RevenueCat, which receives the anonymous installation identifier and the status of your purchase. Apple handles payment and billing information; we never receive your payment details.
6. Your Rights and Contact
